Chair of the TAEH
Mark Aston has been the Executive Director of Fred Victor Centre - a multi-service agency focused on reducing and ending poverty and homelessness - since 2003, and has worked in the social service, housing and health sectors for over 20 years.
Recently Mark has been focused on his role as Chair of the Toronto Alliance to End Homelessness and on the development of new affordable and supportive housing in Toronto.
The TAEH is guided by a coordinating committee of dedicated volunteers. These people are all leaders of key organizations serving people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Toronto. Return to this page in the coming weeks to meet each as we continue to update it.
Kira is the Executive Lead of the Toronto Alliance to End Homelessness (TAEH), joining as the Alliance’s first staff person in September 2016.
Before joining the TAEH Kira was the Executive Director at the Ontario Municipal Social Services Association (OMSSA), which she led to being the foremost voice for municipal social services - including homelessness prevention and supports, housing, children’s services, employment and income security - in Ontario. While at OMSSA Kira was a member of Ontario’s Social Assistance Review Advisory Council (SARAC), the Minister of Children and Youth’s Reference Group on Best Start Child and Family Centres as well other critical tables contributing to Ontario’s Long Term Affordable Housing Strategy (LTAHS) and its Poverty Reduction Strategy.
Prior to OMSSA, Kira was Executive Director at the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care (OCBCC) and the Ontario Coalition for Social Justice (OCSJ).
